The recent tragic events in Manchester and London focussed media attention on the strength of community cohesion and a very strong sense of local identity and great advocacy.
It may have come as a surprise to the media but in Community Cohesion we observe that the seeds of community bonds are routinely nurtured in cities, towns and villages everywhere.
The great lesson from the Manchester is the value of investment in those cross-cutting programmes that may seem insignificant to those focused exclusively on the silos of standard economic sectors.
In an update following the tragic Grenfell Tower fire in West London we further consider the issues of Resilience - the preparedness for unexpected or unimagined events.
